    Summary:This study clarified the customer catchment areas of luxury supermarkets and super-discount supermarkets in Nagoya using GIS. These areas were estimated based on the day-to-night population differential living in Nagoya. While the daytime population is used as the standard for the luxury supermarkets, the nighttime one (permanent resident one) is used as the standard for the super-discount supermarkets. Furthermore, as one of the evaluation criteria for this analysis, we considered that the presence of the nearest major stations of JR or subway in Nagoya within the customer catchment areas.

    Summary:This study clarified the location conditions of supermarkets in Nagoya using GIS. The location evaluation of supermarkets is based on the number of households living in Nagoya. First, we verified the store location conditions considering the distance zone from Nagoya's highest land price point. The customer gathering area of supermarkets is evaluated as the number of households using a car within a 3-km radius of each facility. Furthermore, the number of stores within a 5-km radius from the JR or subway stations in Nagoya is evaluated as the location evaluation of supermarkets.
  3. Geospatial Information Analysis of the Location Status of Emergency Medical Services and Land Prices in Nagoya under the Coronavirus Infection , Ko Sumino , Ikoma Journal of Economics , 19 , 2 , 63 , 82 , 30, Nov. 2021
    Summary:In this study,we conduct a geospatial information analysis of the relationship between land prices and emergency medical facilities' location status of emergency notification hospitals and health centers under the current situation of new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Nagoya, Aichi. First , we calculate the distance between major railroad stations in Nagoya and each land price point based on the 2020 railroad time series data and the 2021 land public announcement in Aichi. Then using the 2015 Census (subregions) in Japan and the statistics viewed on the map (jSTAT MAP),we explore the population within a 30-minute (2km/h) walking distance to each facility. Specifically,we estimate the relationship between the land price and the population within walking distans to each facility,employing the Ordinary Least Square (OLS)method. Based on these regression results,we examine the spatial autocorrelation of residuals (Global Moran' s I statistic) and hot spots (Getis-Ord Gi* statistic).
