Summary:[Abstract] Environmental education plays an important part in maintaining biodiversity. Currently, many institutes and groups in Japan have begun to focus on environmental education. Kinki University Fukuoka Campus has coordinated with many schools in Fukuoka prefecture to run a project called the Science Partnership Project (SPP). People from a broad range of disciplines and positions are employing creative approaches to engage in environmental education. Further, groups from a multitude of backgrounds, such as school teachers, research institutions, government administrations, NPOs, companies, and even conglomerates, have begun working together on this issue. Education aimed at future members of society, such as university and high school students, is as important. Given the fact that biodiversity has major economic implications under the present environmental consciousness, it is important that businesses have knowledge of the significance of maintaining biodiversity.
