    Summary:人が磨かれた表面などに感ずる美観の計測を目標とし,第1段階の研究として,光沢感の定量的計測法の研究を行った。まず表面性状に対応する光学情報として,対象表面を介して形成された像の画質から計測するパターン投影法と,レーザ光の散乱分布から計測する方法を,平行して研究し,それぞれの計測性能,特徴を明らかにし,これらの方法の関連性を調べた。光沢感との関連は,さらに色彩情報と関連することが明らかであり,今後の課題を残している。平成13年度から15年度科学研究補助金研究として実施した報告である。

    Summary:This paper describes an extended 3D vision system for spherical objects using highlight patterns formed by specular reflection on surfaces of the objects. The 3D coordinates of the central position and the radius of the spherical object can be measured by this system. Although the authors had proposed the vision systems which uses two cameras and two point light sources, there was restriction that there had to be the camera and the point light source in the same point. The extended system has less restriction about arrangement of cameras and point light sources than the former system that proposed by the authors. The basic performances of the extended system are proved by experiments.

    Summary:This paper describes a 3D vision system for glossy spherical objects using highlight patterns formed by specular reflection on surfaces of the objects. This system consists of two optical sets including a camera and a point light source, and an image processor. From the highlight patterns, 3D coordinates of the central position and the radius of the objects can be measured by this system. The basic performances of this system are proved by experiments.
